By all accounts, 2010 ART in the PARK was a huge success! Perfect weather and the move to Gamble Park proved to be a smooth transition.The date was earlier this year and in a new loction (the event had been held in June at Memorial park

for the first 6 years). Record numbers of artists participated, and a number of key sponsors helped make the day a success. The newspaper suggested 'hundreds'

of visitors, but our belief is at least a thousand were in attendance. Because of the new venue, lots of space wasgiven to each artists. The meandering stream which runs through the park added to the beautiful treed setting. Also, new this year were awards and the show was a juried event.
New this year, a hands-on activity area for visitors to try

their hand at creating various artwork, from mosaic glass, to jewelry, to acrylic painting. So popular - this will become a regular section of the event.
Birmingham Children's Theatre was invited back, and performed the charming Three Billy Goats production to the delight of all!

The expanded Children's Activity Area was sponsored by The WAY Council, of the Walker Area Community Foundation.
